We Wish You A Happy Thanksgiving!

On behalf of the on-air personalities, broadcast family and station staff, we would like to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving day and weekend!

The 147th annual tradition as honored and celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. The first-ever Thanksgiving was celebrated many years ago, but as a national tradition since 1863, while the honorable Abraham “Honest Abe” Lincoln was president.

Most of us cannot wait to eat some turkey and some ham, with mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce and even more food until we’re beyond stomach capacity. For most of us, we prefer to watch the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the morning before the meal and festivities begin. Then, after the food, we’ll sit down and watch some holiday movies and/or football.

College Football
There are 17 original games that play on this annual holiday, most of which ends the 2010 regular season leading up to the Bowl Championship Series games. One new rivalry contest will debut this year. Here are your 2010 college football Thanksgiving games:

The Battle For The Golden Boot: LSU Tigers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks|

Regular Season Ending Matchups
Clemson Tigers vs. South Carolina Gamecocks
Colorado Buffaloes vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

National Football League
NFL fans always see matchups on the gridiron that involves the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys in their games. This year, the New England Patriots (8-2) will face off against the Lions (2-8). This will be the Patriots’ first appearance since Thanksgiving 2002 and are 1-2 overall in their Thanksgiving appearances, while the Lions are 33-35-2. Their last appearance: last year.

The Dallas Cowboys, who in 2010 are 1-7 under former head coach Wade Phillips and 2-0 under interim head coach Jason Garrett for an overall 3-7 record, hope to make it a 3 game winning streak while they face off against the defending Super Bowl champions New Orleans Saints (7-3). This will be the Saints’ first-ever appearance, while the more experienced Cowboys are 27-14-1 on Thanksgiving.

Finally, the Cincinnati Bengals (2-8) will face off against the New York Jets (8-2). This also marks a first for the Bengals, while the Jets are dead even at 3-3 since their last appearance in 2007.

Regardless of the game outcomes, we hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
